Building a personal relationship with God is essential for a Christian, so it is important to invest quality time with God by studying His Word and praying.  To deepen your relationship with God, you should spend peaceful time in meditation and devotion.  Increasing your knowledge of God’s Word and understanding of Jesus Christ helps you to discern the role of Christ in your daily life.  Take the time to discover the best way for you to communicate with God; it may be private or communal, mournful or jubilant, planned or spontaneous.  All that’s required is the willingness to be attentive to God.

1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
    Nor stands in the path of sinners,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
    Planted by the rivers of water,
    That brings forth its fruit in its season,
